WELCOME to Kimo’s Vegas… The Players Edge!

Proof that you never know when it’s gonna happen… Allen Nitta of Kekaha Hawaii hit the Wheel of Fortune jackpot at the Main Street for 214,450! Then on Saturday Justin Pantoham of Ewa hit the Wheel of Fortune at the Hard Rock won $1,049,419! Putting in only $20 he said “I wasn't sure if I had won, I just wanted to spin the wheel." Amen to that brother!

Many believe that boxing is taking a back seat to ultimate fighting. However tickets for last week’s most lucrative fight in boxing history, the Mayweather-De La Hoya fight started at $1,000 for nosebleeds and up to $20,000 for ringsides. Since it came down to a decision is a rematch in the future… is George Washington on the dollar bill?

Didja hear about the two Vegas locals who booked 3.3 billion dollars in sports bets over 28 months in New York?

Last week’s Baywatch babe swap had Pamela Anderson replace Carmen Electra in Hanks Klok’s, The Beauty of Magic, her Vegas jackpot… about $4 million over 12 weeks.

Hoping to spice up its (yawn) music awards, MTV is moving the show to the Palms Hotel in Vegas. Promising a full weekend of happenings’ the 24th annual show is scheduled to air on September 9th

Looking for something special for the guy who has everything? How about a SKYLOFTS, Porsche Escape, the new partnership combines the five diamond award-winning accommodations with the high-performance of a Porsche sports car and a personal butler to plan a thrill-seeking driving adventure created just for you.

With each visit I run into more people and more Hawaii people in Vegas… the Deponte’s, Moon, John & Jerome (Makaha Sons) Miss Garden Isle; Sabrina Ponciano, Hawaiian105 KINE Morning guy Billy V (in town for the Cal’s May Day Festival), ex-isle resident/recording artist Gary Haleamau and Cirque du Soleil “O” fire knife dancer, Steve Silulu of Waianae. To the MidWeek reader who said I look better in person… I hope you won!

Cruise the Las Vegas strip with Cher, Dolly Parton, Elton John, Elvis Presley, Janet Jackson, John Lennon, Liberace, Madonna, Marilyn Monroe, or maybe even Stevie Wonder. The Sightseeing Superstar Show is a world-class traveling production featuring celebrity impersonators on an original London double-decker bus. Call (866) 701-7469 to get on board.

The local tradition of taking ones offspring to Vegas to celebrate their 21st birthday is catching on… there’s a website that gets you into clubs like Studio 54, Ice, Drai’s with no cover, free buffet and even free show tickets…

Get more Kimo’s Vegas here online at Around Hawaii, in both issues of MidWeek and with Billy V. Friday morning at 7:20 on Hawaiian105 KINE.
