 Vegas 5-0 set up a sting after getting a tip about a prostitution ring based out of the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy. The schools cheerleader coach, Esperanza Brooks told an undercover officer “These are not your average girls, some of them have worked with Bill Clinton” and quoted him a price of $12,000 for 3 girls. The ex-President had no comment…The Fed’s have busted the Tran Organization… not the one that works Merchant Street in the wee hours but the card ring that’s ripped off over 18 casinos (including the Palace Station in Vegas) for millions dollars. The scam involved bribing pit bosses and dealers to false shuffle cards at the mini-baccarat & blackjack tables. In Las Vegas you’ve probably seen the fountains dance, night change to day in just a few minutes and experience rain indoors… well now you can enjoy snow all year long. In the Qua Arctic Ice Room the mint infused air is chilled to 55 degrees creating snow from the domed ceiling. The concept is to bake in the 200-degree dry sauna, then cook in the 112-degree steam room and chill in the ice room, the contrast in temperatures is supposed to get your blood circulating. Ask for the “Roman Rituals & Fitness Center Passport,” ($35 for the day) at the new 50,000 sq. ft. spa at Caesars Palace or if you really hit it big try the $1,050, 180-minute “Qua Signature Hourglass Treatment” for couples (and let me know if you need a second).
 Cher fans are petitioning the management at Caesars to have the diva become a coliseum regular in addition to Bette Midler & Elton John. Organizers hope to get 1,400 signatures by the end of the month, go here to sign the petition.The Las Vegas Hilton is hosting the $100,000 Pai Gow Poker Tournament. The $499 entry fee includes a four day hotel stay and a shot at the $50,000 first-place prize. The tourney starts on July 9, call 800-457-3307 or visit them here.
An Excessive Heat Warning is the official term used by the National Weather Service and it’s based on a sliding scale according to the time of year. Last week’s triple digit temps set off the first alert of the year… a headache, shortness of breath, dry mouth, fatigue or nausea can indicate too much sun exposure, dehydration or a bad day in the casino. Either way look for a place to cool off and dink some water.
